Eccoci pronti per affrontare la settima settimana!

Come ti ha già anticipato Katie nella video-lezione, queste cinque lezioni verteranno sugli aggettivi comparativi, le regole per formarli, le loro eccezioni e il loro utilizzo. Con le attività che ti proporremo tra alcuni istanti potrai fare pratica ed assimilare queste regole nel modo più naturale possibile!

Oggi ci occupiamo dei comparatives che prendono il suffisso -er. La regola grammaticale che li governa può apparire complicata per via della diversa divisione in sillabe, ma come si suol dire: è più difficile da spiegare, che da applicare e a noi interessa la seconda parte 😉 E poi non dimenticare il trucchetto del mento che tocca la mano 😉

Iniziamo subito a mettere in pratica quanto imparato:

Task 1 (Grammar) Complete the gap-fill activity with the correct form of comparative adjectives.

Task 2 (Vocabulary) Listen to this list of adjectives and their corresponding comparatives (download the audio file from the "MATERIALE" section):

High → Higher

Low → Lower

Cheap → Cheaper

Fast→ Faster

Nice → Nicer

Old → Older

Young → Younger

Big → Bigger

Small → Smaller

Tall → Taller

Slim → Slimmer

Task 3 (English in Use) Read the adjectives from the list above aloud focusing on their pronunciation. If there are any words you’re not familiar with, look them up in the dictionary. Then, think of two people you know or two objects. Use the adjectives above and compare them like in the examples.

• My car is faster than my sister’s. 
• My room is smaller than my brother's.
• Jenny is taller than Lisa.
