Longer Adjectives and More or Less

Un esempio: “Apple devices are more expensive than Android devices.”

Il significato del termine more è "più" e crea quindi il "comparativo di maggioranza", mentre il "comparativo di minoranza" vede l'utilizzo della parola less, che vuol dire "meno" (per esempio, Android devices are less expensive than Apple devices).

Dunque la struttura sarà:

[soggetto + verbo + more + aggettivo forma base + than + comparativo di maggioranza]

Apple devices + are + more + expensive + than + Android devices

And now it's time to practice!

Task 1 (Vocabulary)

Listen to the list of adjectives and read it aloud:

More expensive

More experienced

More creative

Less refined

Less astute

Less interesting

More boring

Less reliable

More stubborn

More absent-minded

Task 2 (English in Use)

Think about the members of your family and then answer the questions like the one in the example. Write down your responses (or record yourself) and then read them aloud once you have finished.

E.g. Who is more creative? My dad is more creative than my mom but he’s less creative than me.

Who is less introverted?

Who is more experienced?

Who is less reliable?

Who is more boring?

Who is less astute?

Who is more stubborn?

Who is more absent-minded?

P.s.: se ti stai registrando, fai in modo che i tuoi familiari non siano nei dintorni! Tuo fratello potrebbe rimanerci male quando dirai che "he's less astute than me" 😉 A domani!!
